Located in Boardman Township, Ohio, the Southwoods Surgical Hospital South Building Addition represents the next phase in the continued expansion of Southwoods’ world-class healthcare campus. This project builds upon the success of prior development by adding new clinical and support spaces designed to enhance patient capacity, streamline staff operations, and integrate seamlessly with the existing hospital and surgery center.

The expansion consists of new treatment and recovery rooms, staff locker and lounge facilities, equipment and supply storage areas, and upgraded support infrastructure. The design incorporates modern fire and life-safety systems, IIA construction standards, and advanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to meet current healthcare codes and operational demands. The addition improves both workflow efficiency and the overall patient experience, while providing room for continued growth and innovation in Southwoods’ surgical and recovery programs.

Civil improvements to the surrounding site include selective demolition, upgraded utility connections, and site reconfiguration to maintain accessibility and drainage continuity during construction. As with all Southwoods projects, the focus remains on creating a highly functional, patient-centered environment built to support exceptional care for the Mahoning Valley community.
